Medical Disclaimer
Drift is a wellness product — not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition, including insomnia, anxiety, or ADHD, and it is not a substitute for professional medical care.
What Drift is
Drift offers audio content and relaxation techniques — including the cognitive shuffle — designed to help a busy mind wind down at bedtime. It is built on general principles from sleep and cognitive research, but it is a comfort-and-relaxation tool, not a clinical intervention.
What Drift is not
- Drift is not a medical device, treatment, or therapy.
- Drift does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent insomnia, sleep apnea, anxiety disorders, ADHD, depression, or any other condition.
- Using Drift does not create a doctor–patient or therapist–client relationship.
- Nothing in the app or on this website should be taken as medical, psychological, or professional advice.
No guarantee of results
The cognitive shuffle is a relaxation technique, and individual results vary. Drift may help some people relax and fall asleep more easily, but we make no promises about sleep quality, sleep duration, or any health outcome. Do not rely on Drift in place of care recommended by a qualified professional.
Talk to a professional
Always seek the advice of a qualified healthcare professional with any questions about your sleep, mental health, or a medical condition. In particular, please consult a professional if:
- Sleep problems persist, worsen, or interfere with your daily life.
- You suspect a sleep disorder such as sleep apnea, restless legs, or chronic insomnia.
- You are managing anxiety, ADHD, depression, or another mental-health condition.
- You are pregnant, taking medication, or have a medical condition that affects your sleep.
Never disregard professional medical advice, or delay seeking it, because of something you read or heard through Drift.
Do not use Drift while you need your full attention
Drift content is intended to help you relax and fall asleep. Do not listen while driving, operating machinery, or doing anything that requires your full attention or alertness.
If you are in crisis — if you are thinking about harming yourself or are in immediate danger — Drift cannot help. Please contact your local emergency services right away, or reach a crisis line such as 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, U.S.) or the appropriate service in your country.
